The aim of the Alumni Association is to be a focus and means by which Harrovians can maintain their link with the School and with each other in Thailand and around the world. Ours is still a young association and has only been operating for six years but we have come a long way since our very successful inaugural dinner in 2005 and, every year since then, informal reunions have taken place in Bangkok. The Head Master also meets our Alumni in England when he visits Harrow UK in February. There have now been three such reunions. When any special events occur, including our reunions, alumni will be informed through their personal emails and through Facebook.
ALUMNI EVENTS
We encourage our Alumni to organise their own functions in the country in which they are living and forward to us any photos of the events so we can post them on the Alumni website and on Facebook. We encourage links between present Harrovian pupils and teachers and Harrovian Alumni through a range of activities such as sporting competitions. This year our Bangkok Alumni have participated in three soccer tournaments organised in the school. Suggestions of other events would be most welcome.
ALUMNI CO-ORDINATORS
One way to manage communication and also to provide support and social links to those studying both in Thailand and elsewhere in the world is to have Alumni co-ordinators in different countries to keep our Alumni informed of our activities and to enable them to inform us of theirs. STAYING IN TOUCH
We welcome any news from Alumni – graduation details, starting a new job, getting married, having children, achieving something to be proud of or doing something exciting and unusual. Articles about our Alumni regularly feature in the Harrovian, which can be found, weekly, on our website. More than anything else we welcome our Alumni to visit us at Harrow, and I’m very pleased to say that this is a regular occurence.
