Friends of Harrow is a group of Harrow parents who come together to support both Harrow International School and Harrow parents. All Harrow parents are welcome to join!
Friends of Harrow is organized through a Friends of Harrow Committee elected every year by Harrow parents.
Friends of Harrow Meetings are held on a regular basis. The agenda includes providing information on different areas of the school that are of interest to parents (such as English for second language learners, curriculum, library).
The objectives of the Friends of Harrow Committee are to:
- Help build good relationships between teachers and parents (FOH can help solve parent issues);
- Channel productive communication between teachers/school and parents (FOH can help find the right people to talk to);
- Support work of teachers.
As an end-result, the Friends of Harrow Committee would like to see happy kids, happy parents and happy teachers and staff.
Friends of Harrow helps the School in different ways:
- Supporting the school on special occasions, such as International Day.
- Organising special whole-school events, such as the Harrow Fair.
- Developing good and productive relationships between parents and staff of the School, such as supporting Teacher Appreciation Day.
- Supporting development of students, such as providing a Charity Award.
- Liaising with parents through class representatives.
- Raising funds to support the school community and outside communities, such as providing donations for flood or earthquake relief.
All parents and supporters of Harrow International School are invited to participate either by attending the regular meetings, and helping and/or attending Friends of Harrow events. These events are: posted on this page of our website and listed in the Harrovian each week.
