Friends of Harrow is a group of Harrow parents who come together to support both Harrow International School and Harrow parents. All Harrow parents are welcome to join.Friends of Harrow is organized through a Friends of Harrow Committee elected every year by Harrow parents. Friends of Harrow Meetings are held once a month. The agenda includes providing information on different areas of the school that are of interest to parents.
The objectives of the Friends of Harrow Committee are to:
o Build good relationships between teachers and parents.
o Channel productive communication between teacher/school and parents.
o Support the work of teachers.
As an end-result, the Friends of Harrow Committee would like to see happy children, happy parents and happy staff.
Types of support offered by Friends of Harrow to the School are:
o Activities for students on special occasions such as Loy Krathong.
o Providing hospitality at particular functions for the school community such as Parent/Teacher consultations.
o Organising special whole-school events such as the Harrow Fair.
o Promoting and extending good, productive relationships between parents and staff of the School.
o Fostering relationships with community organizations and fund-raising with students in order to donate to charities.
o Liaising with parents through the class representatives.
All parents and supporters of Harrow International School are invited to participate either by attending the monthly planning meetings, and helping and/or attending Friends of Harrow events. These events are posted on this page of our website as they are planned and are listed in the Harrovian each week.
