The British International School Phuket Football Tournament. Last weekend, four harrow Lions teams travelled to Phuket for a great weekend of football. Up against the biggest schools in S.E Asia as well as football academies from Singapore and Bangkok, our boys and girls did us credit and continued to show that Harrow football is on the up and up.
The U9 Boys led by coach Williams had a great 2 days and look like they have huge potential for the future. They were eventually placed 4th in a field of ten teams. The Under 11 boys’ and girls’ teams coached by Mr. Rock and Mr. Lipscombe both reached the semi finals which was a great accomplishment. The boys finished 5th and the girls 4th.
The U3 Boys played well on day one to win three of their four matches and therefore qualify for the semi finals. The semi final against the Can U Kick It academy from Bangkok was a thrilling game. After a 1:1 draw after extra time, the Lions ran out 4:3 winners on penalties. Although the boys lost the final to Tanglin thney can be proud of their efforts.
