Canny K11, Philip K13 and the Under U15 Boys’ Football team take top honours at the inaugural, annual Harrow Sports Awards at the Campus, Grand Hyatt Erawan.
On Saturday we hosted our first Harrow Sports awards at the superb “Campus” at the Grand Hyatt Erawan. The state of the art bar, restaurant, recreational and presentation facilities provided a superb backdrop for a quite outstanding evening of awards. After refreshments, the Head Master Mr. Kevin Riley and Mrs. Elspeth Riley along with Chair of the Board of Governors Khun Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, sponsors, coaches, parents and sports players sat down to watch 90 trophies awarded to Harrow’s finest athletes. Video presentations of each BISAC Season proceeded awards for Most Valuable Players (MVP) and Most Improved player for each of the 30 Harrow Sports teams. The high light of the evening were the overall player, team and coach of the year awards. The 2010 winners were:

Sports Women of the Year: Canny K11
Sports Man of the Year: Philip K13
Team of the Year: Under 15 Boys’ FOBISSEA Football Team – FOBISSEA Champions
Coach of the Year: Khun Somparn (voted for by HIS students)

After the awards and thanks to Friends of Harrow sports supporters Jackie Waddell, Khun Krishma, Khun Anita, Sarah Glaze and Monique Allen, the students finished off the night with more fun and games as well as a disco.
Our thanks for such a memorable first event go out to: our HIS marketing department of Khun Jaa, Sarah Bevis and Matt Riley; our sponsors Bangkok Hospital, North Park Place, The Grand Hyatt Erawan and Muang Thong Utd.
Finally, without the efforts of our sensational Harrow students, our Harrow sports coaches and in particular Miss Evans and Miss Jurado, this event would not have been possible – my personal thanks to them for a job outstandingly well done.
With the event now the “talk of the town” tickets promise to sell like “hot cakes” next year – so order yours fast!
