Last Wednesday saw the 6th Secondary School Sports Day held at Harrow. Over 670 students and staff took to the fields in cool and thankfully overcast conditions, on what turned out to be a fantastic day of athletics.
After the traditional “athletes parade” and standing for the Thai national anthem it was down to the serious business of a full track and field program that saw medals awarded in over 98 events.
Throughout the day competition was close between all of the houses, but as events drew to a close and the final relays finished it became clear there could only be one winning house.
The final totals were added up whilst a huge number of students took part in The 4th Charity Mile, that this year included an elite race and the award of medals and cups for the winners of the four categories.
In the final act of the afternoon, the Secondary Sports Day cup was again awarded to the triumphant Keller House, with Sonakul House 2nd and Byron House 3rd.
The award of this trophy was reward for an excellent performance by Keller but this was only part of the story of the day.
The attitude, effort, enthusiasm and support that was shown by all students and staff is something that is special to Harrow and something that everyone involved with the school should be very proud of.
A huge “well done” to all members of the Harrow community.
