Byron“demolish” the opposition at the Prep School Basketball House Matches. On Tuesday our Prep School took part in their second sporting House match competition of the year. Students played for their houses in three competitions : Year 7 boys; Year 6 boys and; Year 7/6 girls. These were then added together to find the 2009 Prep Basketball Champions.
Individual skills on display were of the highest order and the quality has improved considerably since last year. All students in each House had the opportunity to play and it was fantastic to see how well teams pulled together and utilised all players to maximise their chances of winning but also to give everyone a chance to contribute.
When the morning came to a close and the final trophy was presented by the Prep School Head, Mr. Robson, the honours went to Byron House. As well as picking up the Champions trophy they also won all three competitions.
Many thanks must go to all our P.E and Prep staff for their time and expertise and, in particular, a big thank you to Mr. Sparks for organising such a great event.
