Information and Communications Technology skills are crucial in enabling access to information, ideas, communities and cultures which can be explored, analysed, evaluated, exchanged and transformed electronically. Through a practical approach to teaching and learning, our goal is to increase each child’s confidence and capability in their use of a wide range of ICT tools.

The ICT curriculum at Harrow International School is based on the QCA scheme of work. This quality control ensures a systematic and continuous form of ICT teaching addressing all aspects of the requirements of the English National Curriculum.

Pupils learn in ICT suites specially designed for the purpose. Both generic and educational software is used in addition to a wide range of peripherals and educational toys.

The tools of ICT are used across the whole curriculum and opportunities are taken wherever possible to use ICT applications as part of the study of other subject areas. ICT becomes embedded in relevant situations and realistic contexts.
