U11 Girls’ Football Team push Patana hard in the BISAC U11 Girls’ BISAC Championship final. At the weekend the final BISAC Season 2 tournaments were held. Over forty players represented the “lions” girls and boys U11 football teams – two girls’ teams at Bangkok Patana and three boys’ teams at Harrow.

The highlight of the weekend was the U11 girls’ performance. After beating Shrewsbury 4:0, Ruamrudee 2:0, Patana B 4:0 and, ISB 4:0 our Lions “A” team finally met our own Lions “B” team in the semi final. After a tough match our “A” team progressed to the final where they pushed Patana A team all the way but lost out 1:0 in extra time and came home with silver medals. With the “B” team going on to finish fourth, however, it was a great day for Harrow girls’ football and, all players as well as Mr. Rock and Mr. Rodricks who coached the teams should be congratulated.

In the boys’ tournament here at Harrow there were 18 teams competing for three separate trophies. Our Lions A, B and C teams did Harrow proud with some excellent individual skills and some superb team work. After narrowly missing out on a semi final place on goal difference the A team finished 5th in the Championship; the B team won bronze medals in the plate competition and; our C team took away silver medals in the bowl tournament. Again, it was marvellous to see so many students wearing the Harrow ‘blue and white’ with such pride and both our players and our coaches, Mr. Lipscombe, Mr. Herbert and Mr. Williams, should be thanked for the hard work they gave to the Lions cause.
