Information for Applicants

continuing professional development

Here at Harrow Bangkok, we are committed to professional development of all staff at every level of the organisation in line with our High Performance Learning philosophy.

We use BlueSky to track and support training and ongoing CPD. Depending on your need and level of experience, you will have a choice of  a professional development pathway. This allows you to develop professionally while exploring opportunities within or bringing innovation to your classroom, specific role or subject area.

The majority of our professional development is based on an instructional coaching model, bespoke to the needs of each individual teacher. New staff undergo intensive instructional coaching as a part of their induction to support them in settling into the new school and empower them to deliver the world class education using the Harrow Bangkok Lesson model of excellence from the very beginning. All staff are assigned a Teaching and Learning coach and offered developmental drop-ins followed by coaching conversations usually once a fortnight but at least every three weeks. In addition to this, you are offered regular opportunities to work with fellow practitioners in research-based study groups developing your teaching skills to expert level.

Some training takes place as a part of scheduled INSET days and visits from guest experts, but many staff also attend meetings and courses in venues around Thailand and other countries in Asia. Trainers from the UK and elsewhere also come to Harrow Bangkok to lead training with select members of staff.

Harrow Bangkok is proud to offer a wide range of professional development opportunities available at all times through our Learning Hub, where staff have 24/7 access to online courses and webinars on a variety of topics. New opportunities are shared on a weekly basis via email as well as a termly Teaching and Learning Newsletter published by the teaching and learning community run by teachers with all staff invited to contribute their ideas and practice.

Our school is an active member of both the HarrowNet and FOBISIA organisations. Through this we have developed strong links with other schools in the Harrow group and the region, opening up further chances for CPD, through reciprocal visits and shared training. We are excited about the Harrow Academy offering world class professional development courses to all Harrow Group schools opening up on our doorstep soon.
