The Gateway Programme

Many students who apply to the Upper School at Harrow Bangkok are declined because their English is not at the level needed to study their curriculum. The Gateway to Harrow Programme is designed for these children.

WHO THE PROGRAMME IS FOR

The Gateway Programme is for students aged 10-12 with basic English skills.

WHAT THE PROGRAMME IS

Students study English for most of the week but also join other students in their year group for subjects like maths, computing, physical education, design technology, art and music.

Gateway students also attend Saturday School to increase their English learning.

WHEN STUDENTS CAN START THE PROGRAMME

Students can join the Gateway Programme at the start of any of the three school terms.

HOW LONG THE PROGRAMME IS

The Gateway Programme is for two school terms, maximum. They will move into main classes as soon as assessments show they are at the level needed to study the full curriculum. This could be at any stage in the programme.

Should a student not meet the level needed for a Harrow Bangkok education after two terms, they will need to continue their education elsewhere. Parents will be informed as early as possible should this be the case.

WHERE THE STUDENTS LIVE

Gateway students live in the Boarding Village at Harrow Bangkok. They will stay as a weekly (Monday-Thursday), or full boarder until they finish their Harrow Bangkok education.

WHO TEACHES THE GATEWAY PROGRAMME

Students are taught by qualified and experienced Harrow Bangkok teachers.
