Lower School Term 2 Opening Plans

We are delighted to welcome all students back onto campus. All lessons will be delivered on campus. Therefore, there will be no opt-out classes.

campus safety

  • ATK Testing: You will need to complete the ATK and health questionnaires as required.
  • Parent and Toddler classes will begin in Term 2. Parents will receive invites for these sessions.
  • Nursery classes will start half day initially and will move to full day on the 24th January (week 3).
  • To reduce congestion at the start and end of the day, we will continue to use all three entrance zones: Early Years, Infant Gate and Clocktower. In addition, we will have staggered start and end times. We ask that parents support us in dropping off/picking up their children at the appropriate times.
  • There will be no in-person assemblies or large group gatherings - these will be conducted via Zoom.
  • Children over the age of 2 years will be required to wear masks at all times (except when eating or drinking) in school. We strongly encourage younger children NOT to wear masks on strings around their necks.

We will have staggered arrival and departure times, different entrance/exit points for students and one-way systems in operation throughout the campus.

testing Schedule for Term 2

Please make sure you complete an ATK test for your child and upload the result(s) between 6am and 6pm on MONDAY and again on THURSDAY. Please upload the results onto our ATK parent portal by CLICKING HERE. If you have more than one Lower School child, this applies to all children that will be on campus.

Shortly after you have submitted the form, you will receive an automatic email with a School Pass. Please show this confirmation email to staff when you arrive each day.

Please note that students or parents arriving at school without having completed an ATK test will not be provided tests by the school, nor will the students be allowed to enter the campus. Please test your child before they come to school. We will have registers of those with and without School Passes as a back up.

Class Bubbles

  • To reduce the risk of transmission between learners, staff and children will remain in class and year group ‘bubbles’ at all times. Within each Year 2 to 5 class bubble, staff and children will be expected to maintain social distance of 1 - 2 metres at all times. In Early Years and Year 1, we will continue to encourage children to learn and play in small groups using our continuous provision.
  • One-way systems around the campus will be enforced  to enable social distancing.
  • For specialist classes such as music, PE and Thai, our specialist teachers will work across the ‘bubbles’. Where it is safe to do so, this will be in person (ie: they can teach the children at a distance and there is no close interaction required). If not, they will join the classes via Zoom.
  • When outdoors at playtime or after-school activities children will be in year group ‘bubbles’.
  • Assemblies or large group gatherings will be conducted via Zoom.

TRACK & TRACE

An important measure is that we keep an accurate log of places visited during each evening. This is a legal requirement so we ask that you write any activities your child undertakes in your child’s Communications Diaries/Reading Records every day. For this reason, please make sure that Communications Diaries/Reading Records are brought into school daily.

ACTIONS TAKEN WHEN A CASE OF COVID-19 IS IDENTIFIED

All children will be on campus from January 2022. We know that learning on campus is a much better experience for your child. In particular, for our younger children the communication, language and literacy development and the social interaction is so much richer when they connect with their peers and their teachers in school.

We recognise that covid-19 is now endemic and therefore there are likely to be occasions when a group of children or a class needs to be isolated as per the MoPH guidance. If a case of Covid-19 is identified in a class, the families will be notified and the class will return to off-campus learning for three days to allow for contact tracing to be completed, ATK and PCR testing to be carried out and the classroom spaces to be fully sanitised.      In these cases, we will offer full online provision during this period. Any children deemed high-risk that are required to isolate for a longer period will be provided with limited online materials during their isolation period.

Exemplary Campus Safety Protocols

We have carried out a comprehensive review of our safety measures to make sure all of our community is kept safe. These control measures can be found here.

We ask you to help us with keeping everyone safe and follow the key instructions in the Reopening Hub carefully:

Before every day that your child comes to school :

Between 6am and 6pm on the day before your child comes into school: parents must complete the Thai Save Thai Health Form HERE.

To ensure effective levels of health monitoring and surveillance across our campus all students must:

  • Retest every 72hrs in order to enter the School
  • Upload the results of the test to the Parent Portal between 6am-6pm the day before they are in school
  • If a negative test has been entered into the portal, the student and parent will receive a School pass (tick) with the appropriate dates of permissible entry.

If your child has not yet come back to school parents must also complete the ATK test procedure and submit it HERE between 6am and 6pm the day before their child's first day back.

Please note that students or parents arriving at school without having completed an ATK test will not be provided tests by the school, nor will the students be allowed to enter the campus. Please test your child before they come to school. We will have registers of those with and without School Passes as a back up.

Every day that your child comes into school:

Before leaving home: parents should check their child's temperature. If this is above 37.5 degrees, or if they are showing other signs and symptoms of illness, your child should not come to school, and parents must inform the relevant administrative office.

On arrival at school: parents must ensure that the emailed School Pass is ready to be shown to the guards upon entry to school at the Clock Tower/ Infant Entrance Gate / EYC. Any parents wishing to accompany their child through security must also be ready to show their vaccination certificate or a recent ATK test. We would be grateful if parents who are not accompanying their child through security do not leave their cars during drop off and pick up.

Please also be mindful as a family of exposures and contacts outside of school to minimize the risk of infection. We encourage families to keep a track of their movements outside of school in case contact tracing is required.

Arrival and Departure

Parents/carers will NOT be allowed in the school buildings at any time, with the exception of those with children in Early Years and Years 1 and 2. For children in these year groups, one adult will be asked to drop off and pick up their child at specific locations. Only one adult per family will be allowed on campus. Please maintain social distancing at all times, and make sure your child does the same. All parents and carers are expected to leave the campus immediately after dropping off / picking up their children and are required to wear masks at all times. The adult collecting your child must show a member of staff the School Pass email and vaccination certificate or recent ATK test before being allowed through security.

Your child may only enter the school if they can show a copy of the School Pass email.

If you need to meet or speak with the class teacher, this must be arranged separately via email and conducted through Zoom.
