FAQs on January Opening

For all students we ask to bring a water bottle which can be filled up using the water fountains. Students may not drink from the water fountains directly.
 
For Lower School students 
As usual, we will provide all the equipment children need, and will ensure it is cleaned each day after use. 
If your child is in Pre Prep and you would like to, you may wish to send in a small labelled pencil case with equipment that only your child can use.  

For students in Year 5 upwards, their iPad is essential and they must bring it to every lesson.
We also ask that all lower school learners bring at least one spare face mask to school. Children over the age of 2 years will be required to wear masks at all times (except when eating or drinking) when in school.

In Upper School students will need to bring the following:

• iPad or laptop (fully charged) plus their charger (please register all new devices here using the school user account details and password)
• A set of headphones
• Pencil case: pens, pencils, pencil sharpener, ruler, scissors, glue stick, eraser, coloured pencils etc.
• Any overdue library books

Yes, PE lessons will still take place. However, we will not be conducting sports involving close contact with athletes. Sports equipment will be cleaned frequently. Anyone with a PE lesson will need to be in their PE kit all day as social distancing requirements mean that we will not use the changing rooms.

Yes, we will be using a variety of means to assess student work, including physical marking of work and online assessment and feedback.

Adults and children over the age of 2 years will be required to wear masks at all times (except when eating or drinking) when in school.  We also ask that all lower school learners bring at least one spare face mask to school. 

We have a team of medical staff in three locations around the campus. All our medical staff have access to personal protective equipment should they have to deal with someone presenting with symptoms of COVID-19. 

Yes, our library services will be open to our students to support their learning. All students and staff will be asked to thoroughly sanitise their hand when entering and leaving the library. Library users will be required to socially distance themselves at all times.

• Our lunchtime will be staggered so that there will never be a large number of students arriving at once. During lunch, children will remain in their class bubbles. 
• All areas will be cleaned twice each day. 
• Inside the dining hall tables and chairs have been laid out to meet the requirements of social distancing. 
• All catering staff wear masks, shields and gloves. Cutlery is individually wrapped. Food and water are served by staff – nowhere is it possible for diners to help themselves. 
   

• Play/break-times will be in our large, open outdoor spaces with reduced numbers of children at any one time
• Additional supervision will be in place to ensure social distancing and mask wearing
• Dining tables have been separated and marked to ensure effective social distancing
   

Yes, all Montri drivers and monitors are fully vaccinated and will be temperature checked by Montri daily. They will also make available hand sanitisers on the buses and adhere to social distancing on the journey. 

We are following government guidelines about social distancing (1 - 2metres)  in classrooms. Teachers will be able to move around the classroom during lessons, whilst maintaining social distancing. This will significantly improve the level of feedback and interaction for students who are learning face to face in school bubbles.

• To reduce the risk of transmission between learners, staff and children will remain in class and year group ‘bubbles’ at all times and within each class bubble, staff and children will be expected to maintain social distance of 1 - 2 metres at all times. To support this,  all classes in Lower School will have access to two teaching spaces to provide them with extra space
   
• One-way systems  around the campus, where appropriate, will be enforced to facilitate social distancing 
   
• For specialist classes such as music, PE and Thai in the Lower School, our specialist teachers will work across the ‘bubbles’. Where it is safe to do so, this will be in person (ie: they can teach the children at a distance and there is no close interaction required). If not, they will join the classes via Zoom
   
• Assemblies or large group gatherings will be conducted via Zoom
