F1 World Finals

F1 World Finals
Iain Sands, Head of Creative Arts Faculty

After months of research and development, encompassing multiple designs, testing and analyzing a plethora of aerodynamic data, Kochasri Racing arrived in Singapore to compete against the top 50 teams from around the globe at the F1 in Schools World Finals.

In addition to competitive races, our team of six Year 10 Harrovian F1 engineers and designers faced numerous timed challenges, presentations, pit lane interviews and intense scrutiny of our miniature Formula 1 car, by official F1 motorsport judges.

In dramatic events, mirrored at Singaporean F1 Grand Prix, our fleet of Kochasri Racing cars suffered major structural damage during competition, which resulted in our team having to retire from the competitive races after setting some blistering times.

The resilience, organisation, collaboration, critical and creative thinking demonstrated by our team was recognised with a ‘Best Sportsmanship Award’ nomination, sponsored by Force India Racing team, at the closing ceremony.

We would like to thank our sponsors Harrow International School Bangkok, Est Cola, South East Insurance and Finance Group, GC PTT and Karnmanee Palace Hotel for your patronage to enable us to compete at the highest level.

Please look out for future F1 in Schools events throughout the academic calendar and extracurricular activity programme.
